In the second round of the group stage at the 2026 World Cup against Cape Verde, which ended in a 2-2 draw, Muslera committed an error that allowed the opponents to equalize.

- Fernando Muslera (Uruguay) - 4 errors;
- Mohammed Al-Deayea (Saudi Arabia) - 3 errors;

In the first round, Uruguay drew with Saudi Arabia (1-1), while Cape Verde surprisingly secured a point against Spain, finishing their match 0-0. In the final, third round of the group stage, Uruguay will face Spain, and Cape Verde will take on Saudi Arabia, with both matches scheduled for June 27.
