In a crucial moment, France's goalkeeper Mike Maignan saved a penalty from Larsen, maintaining their lead at 3-1 and preventing Norway from making a comeback. With this win, France secured the top spot in Group I and will face Sweden in the knockout stages. Norway, finishing second, is set to play against Ivory Coast.
Guy Stéphan, who was on the sidelines due to Didier Deschamps' absence, praised the team's performance and dedicated the victory to Deschamps, who will return to the team shortly. "We did what we needed to do and showed a lot of joy in playing," Stéphan remarked. "Dembélé's hat-trick and Doué's header are significant positives, though we must address some moments where we faltered." Stéphan emphasized the importance of maintaining focus as the team progresses, noting that challenges will increase as they advance.
