Years after the events, Hernanes revisits one of the pivotal transfers in his football career. Speaking on the podcast Doppio Passo, the former Brazilian midfielder elaborated on his reasons for leaving Lazio in January 2014 to join Inter Milan. Hernanes, known as 'The Prophet,' was motivated by the ambition to win more trophies. "I went to Inter to win," he stated. "That year with Lazio, I had won the Coppa Italia against Roma, which is the pinnacle with that jersey. I decided to move to Milan to pursue more titles." However, his time with the Nerazzurri didn't meet his expectations. "I felt good, but it was a transitional period for the club. Achieving results on the field was not easy," he explained. This led Hernanes to seek a new challenge just a year later. "I took another step by going to Juventus. I played football to win, not just to feel good. If I couldn't win, I changed teams," he admitted. In Turin, Hernanes had to adjust to a new role. "At Juventus, I played as a playmaker, which wasn't ideal for me. Being a Brazilian player, I was naturally creative and instinctive, and I had to learn to play differently." Despite the initial challenges, Hernanes acknowledges the growth he experienced during this time. "Previously, I acted on instinct. As a playmaker, I had to think more, and in the end, I enjoyed the journey greatly."
