Mohamed Salah Doubtful for Egypt's Clash Against Australia

Egyptian football fans are holding their breath as star forward Mohamed Salah is in doubt for the national team's crucial World Cup last-32 fixture against Australia. Scheduled for Friday in Dallas, this match could take place without Salah, who sustained a hamstring injury during Egypt's recent 1-1 draw with Iran. Salah, aged 34, was forced off the pitch during the match, and subsequent scans confirmed the hamstring strain.

Dr. Mohamed Abou, the team doctor, noted that Salah had reported pain before the scans. The Egyptian Football Association confirmed that Salah has already started a treatment program but did not comment on whether he would be fit to participate in the impending match. "I spoke with Salah, and, God willing, the injury doesn't seem serious," stated Egypt coach Hossam Hassan post-match. "He assured me it would be fine, that it's not a serious injury."

Previously, Salah missed three weeks of action due to a similar injury in April but managed to return for Liverpool's final games of the season. In the current World Cup, Salah has contributed significantly, scoring once and assisting twice, helping Egypt to qualify from Group G in second place.
