Marcus Rashford, England's forward, speaks about the competition within the team and his expectations for the World Cup, emphasizing the importance of preparation and cohesion among the squad.
Marcus Rashford remains undecided about his future at Manchester United, considering a potential transfer after a successful loan at Barcelona. Meanwhile, the English forward, born in 1997, is focused on the World Cup with the Three Lions, set to face Ghana in two days. Having participated in six major tournaments throughout his international career, he understands the high expectations and responsibilities that come with it. "It's another peak, the highest level one can play at," Rashford said about the dream of experiencing the World Cup. "We can't wait to get started and do our job as best as possible." At 28, Rashford has begun preparations early to ensure he is fit for the tournament, noting that England has evolved significantly over the years: "I think people believe the preparation starts now, but it actually began a long time ago when the coach arrived. Everything has been built towards this moment."

Inside the locker room, there's total cohesion: "We are one team and need to fight for each other just as we do for our clubs. This is the norm now. We know it’s tough because everyone wants to play, and many players deserve to play," he remarked on the competition within Tuchel's squad. "At some point, there will be disappointed players, but it’s about how you handle it." Rashford added, "I think we need to bring an intensity that the opponents can't cope with, and we aim to stick to that. If we can play at that level, it can win us games. The only thing we can predict is how we perform over 90 or 120 minutes. So, I think as players, we just need to focus on that. We must keep pushing. We are definitely capable of it," he concluded. The upcoming match against Ghana will determine their progression to the knockout stage of the World Cup, in this case, within Group L.
