Senegal's national team defender, Moussa Nyakate, has revealed his approach to managing the threat posed by Norway's star striker, Erling Haaland, ahead of their FIFA World Cup 2026 group stage encounter. "Haaland needs to be closely marked in the penalty area more than any other forward, as it's crucial not to let him jump," Nyakate told L’Équipe. "He's a smart striker who knows how to challenge defenders effectively." In Norway's opening match, Haaland scored twice against Iraq, leading his team to a 4-1 victory. As it stands, Norway tops Group I with three points, whereas Senegal is yet to earn any points following their 3-1 loss to France. The Norway vs. Senegal match is set for June 23 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, with kick-off at 3:00 AM Moscow time.
