The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in South Korea has announced the launch of the K-Football Reform Committee, set to commence on July 6th in Seoul. This initiative follows South Korea's early exit from the North American World Cup and aims to address the pressing need for fundamental changes in Korean football. The committee will be co-chaired by Minister Choi Hwi-young and FIFA committee member Park Ji-sung, a symbolic figure in South Korean football.

Joining the committee are notable figures like Lee Young-pyo, a key player in the 2002 World Cup, and Park Joo-ho, who has been vocal about the need for administrative improvements. The committee will also include officials from various related organizations, including Yoo Seung-min, president of the Korea Sports Council, and Kim Seung-hee, an executive director of the Korea Football Association. Legal and policy experts will also provide advisory support.
The committee will focus on enhancing governance transparency, improving youth development systems, and integrating modern technology in line with global football trends. Park Ji-sung emphasizes that the committee will incorporate voices from all levels of football to set a clear direction for sustainable growth. Minister Choi has promised government support to ensure the committee's proposals are implemented effectively across the sport's administrative and grassroots levels.
