FC Barcelona is actively working on strengthening its full-back options for the upcoming season. One of the decisions pending is the future of 19-year-old academy product Jofre Torrents. The Catalan club plans to send the young full-back out on loan, with Ajax emerging as the leading contender for his services, according to Mundo Deportivo. Last summer, Torrents had the chance to join Barcelona's first-team pre-season preparations and made his debut under the guidance of coach Hansi Flick. However, he missed the majority of the season due to a left ankle injury. Barcelona’s management is hopeful that a loan spell with guaranteed playing time will aid Torrents' development. Ajax’s head coach, Michel Sanchez, is personally invested in bringing Torrents to the Amsterdam club.
