Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has expressed his deep disappointment following their heartbreaking defeat to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the Champions League final, which was decided on penalties. Speaking to UEFA, Odegaard lamented the loss, highlighting the agony of being so close to victory but ultimately falling short in the shootout. "Being ahead and then losing on penalties... it's a hard pill to swallow," said the Norwegian star, reflecting on the match where Arsenal had initially taken the lead.
Despite the defeat, Odegaard praised his team's performance, noting that Arsenal managed to keep PSG under control for most of the match. "They had a lot of possession, but we defended well and they didn't create many chances," Odegaard analyzed. "Apart from the penalty, they didn't really threaten us. In football, it's all about fine margins and details, as we saw in this season," he added.

"Winning the league for the first time in 22 years and reaching the Champions League final is something special," he remarked. "We must use this feeling to come back stronger next season and be proud of what we've achieved," urged the 27-year-old leader.
The loss notwithstanding, Arsenal's achievements this season, including their league triumph, were celebrated with a parade, a testament to the team's growth and resilience. Odegaard's comments reflect a determination to build on this experience and continue striving for success in future campaigns.
