Rennes has officially confirmed the signing of young defender Gonçalo Oliveira from Benfica for €3.5 million, with a contract lasting until 2031.

Rennes has officially announced the acquisition of Gonçalo Oliveira, a promising talent from Benfica, to strengthen their defense. Following the signings of Adrien Thomasson and Issa Soumaré, Oliveira joins the club from Benfica. The young player, who has represented Portugal at U17, U18, U19, and U21 levels, has signed a contract that will keep him at Rennes until 2031. "After 15 years with the eagle on my chest, it is time to close this special chapter of my life," said Oliveira. "These years have been filled with growth, learning, challenges, and achievements that I will carry with me forever. I want to thank all my teammates, coaches, staff, management, fans, and everyone who has been a part of this journey and contributed to my development. Benfica will always be an important part of my story. Thank you for everything."
