De Vrij bids farewell to Inter: "Thank you for the love, it's time for a new challenge"

In a heartfelt farewell, Stefan de Vrij has announced his departure from Inter Milan after an impactful eight-year spell. The Dutch defender shared his emotions in a lengthy message on his Instagram account, addressing the Interisti: "Dear Inter fans, it is not easy to find the right words when reaching a moment like this. These have been eight intense years, filled with emotions, sacrifices, victories, disappointments, and growth. Years in which I had the honor of wearing this shirt and the privilege of belonging to this great family. I have always given my best, whether my name was among the protagonists or when the required contribution was more silent, because I believe that love for a team is not measured by the minutes played, but by the commitment and respect shown every day. Now I feel the need to challenge myself differently, to seek new challenges and opportunities for expression. It is part of every player's career to listen to these feelings and have the courage to follow them, without forgetting what has been accomplished. I want to thank everyone: my teammates who shared the locker room with me, the coaches who contributed to my growth, every person working behind the scenes making this possible, and also you fans. In the most beautiful moments, you celebrated with us, and in the most difficult ones, you never made us feel alone and gave us immense strength.
