Despite this impressive feat, Dembele humbly stated that he valued his performances against Senegal and Ireland more highly. "I am proud; it's so special. Teammate Aurelien Tchouameni also praised Dembele's abilities, saying, "Ousmane Dembele? When he plays like this, well, wow. He is definitely one of the best in the world. He won the Ballon d'Or for a reason, and today he showed why. We are very fortunate." The assistant coach, Guy Stephan, commented on Dembele's resilience and return to form, noting, "Ousmane is human and, like everyone, feels the criticism. As a Ballon d'Or winner who faced some physical issues, his performance today was fantastic. Scoring three goals in a World Cup match is always extraordinary. I am very pleased with this victory." The match took place at Gillette Stadium, Boston.
