Dennis te Kloese, reflecting on his tenure as Feyenoord's director, acknowledges the mixed outcomes of his decisions, particularly regarding Luka Ivanusec. The Croatian winger, who joined Feyenoord from Dinamo Zagreb for over seven million euros in 2023, was expected to be a standout performer. However, Ivanusec struggled to meet manager Arne Slot's expectations for wingers, losing out to Igor Paixão in the process. Despite high hopes based on his performances with the Croatian national team and Dinamo Zagreb, Ivanusec's first year at Feyenoord was challenging, leading to his loan move to PAOK Saloniki. Te Kloese admits the difficulty of not all signings working out as planned. "We watched him perform brilliantly against top players like Denzel Dumfries, and his stats backed his potential," Te Kloese remarked in his farewell interview. "But even with our formal processes and high expectations, not every decision yields the desired results." Ivanusec's case illustrates the unpredictable nature of football transfers, where even well-researched decisions sometimes don't pan out.
