France has completed the group stage of the World Cup with a perfect record, securing the top position in Group I after a decisive 4-1 victory over Norway. The match was marked by a standout performance from Ousmane Dembélé, who scored a hat-trick, leading the team to three wins out of three matches. Guy Stephan, who took charge in the absence of head coach Didier Deschamps, spoke to beIN Sports following the match. Stephan sent his thoughts to Deschamps, who was absent due to a personal family tragedy, stating, "Our thoughts are with Didier, who will join us tomorrow (Saturday). He will be at training, and we look forward to welcoming him back." Stephan expressed satisfaction with the team's offensive display, highlighting the joy and numerous goal-scoring opportunities created. "We did what we needed to do. There was a lot of enjoyment in playing, and we created many chances. Ousmane scored a hat-trick, and Désiré Doué scored his first header goal in his career, which are very positive signs. We need to keep this spirit, although there were moments where we dropped off, and we need to work on those," Stephan added. Looking ahead to the knockout stages, Stephan emphasized the need for focus, stating, "The competition will get tougher regardless of who we face in the round of 16. We must stay vigilant, be satisfied with our performance, and enjoy this victory. Tomorrow, we will get back to work."
