Graham Potter celebrated Sweden's qualification for the World Cup following a decisive goal scored by Viktor Gyokeres in the 88th minute against Poland. This triumph marks a significant comeback for Potter after his previous dismissals from Chelsea and West Ham. Reflecting on his journey, Potter shared, "It's been painful. These are tough experiences," acknowledging both his failures and successes. He emphasized the importance of perspective and learning from trusted individuals to improve. "In the end, you have to find a way to be grateful for it," he remarked, recalling the unforgettable night in Stockholm. "It was the best night of my career. While there are dark times to endure, there are also indescribable moments," Potter told BBC Sport. The match concluded dramatically with Gyokeres' unexpected winning goal. "Viktor scores, and it feels like an out-of-body experience," Potter described. "Our bench rushes onto the field, and I think, 'These are yellow cards, we're in trouble.' But we're going to the World Cup, so all rules fly out the window." The atmosphere in the stadium was electric as the final whistle blew. "It's fantastic to experience positivity through football, especially after a lack of it recently," Potter added. The coach, who has extended his contract until 2030, will lead Sweden to the World Cup. "Maybe in England, we take qualification for granted, but many countries don’t make it, so it’s special when it happens," Potter explained. "It's crucial for the financial health of the entire football movement."
