Antoine Griezmann officially joins Orlando City SC after leaving Atletico Madrid, signing a contract until 2028 with an option for an additional year.
Antoine Griezmann has been officially announced as an Orlando City SC player following his exit from Atletico Madrid at the end of last season. Griezmann agreed to an initial contract running until the end of the 2027-28 campaign, with the option to extend for a further year, back in March. The 35-year-old is expected to take part in his first training session with Orlando next Monday, with the Lions' first game after the World Cup break coming on July 22.

Orlando has struggled at the start of their MLS campaign, currently sitting 12th in the Eastern Conference after 15 matches, and they are without a permanent manager. Martin Perelman is in temporary charge following Oscar Pareja's sacking in March. The team has faced defensive challenges, conceding 44 goals so far this season, the most in the league.
Griezmann, who had a prolific career at Atletico, scored 212 goals and provided 95 assists during his two spells at the club, making him the top scorer in their history. His 296 goal involvements in LaLiga rank fourth in the division's history, behind only Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Lionel Messi. The Lions will look to Griezmann's experience to turn around their season after suffering a heavy 6-2 loss to FC Cincinnati before the World Cup break, with their next match against the San Jose Earthquakes scheduled for next month.
