Toni Kroos has expressed his confidence in Jude Bellingham's potential to become the world's best midfielder, following an impressive start at Real Madrid. Bellingham joined the Spanish giants in 2023 and played alongside Kroos for one season, during which Real Madrid secured the LaLiga and Champions League titles, as well as the Supercopa Espana and Super Cup. Despite Kroos retiring at the end of the 2023-24 season, Bellingham's impact has been significant, with 98 appearances and 46 goals, along with 32 assists in all competitions. His contribution of 78 goal involvements ranks just behind Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe for Madrid. Kroos praised Bellingham's comprehensive skill set, including his game understanding, physicality, and finishing ability. He emphasized Bellingham's mentality and potential to excel in his position. Despite an initial setback due to shoulder surgery at the start of the 2025-26 season, Bellingham managed 15 goal involvements across 46 appearances. However, Madrid ended the season without major trophies. Looking ahead, Real Madrid has been active in the transfer market, with new additions like Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, and Ibrahima Konate. The club is also linked with further high-profile signings, including Michael Olise and Enzo Fernandez, as they prepare for a new era under returning manager Jose Mourinho.
