Years ago, Marco Carnesecchi was on the brink of joining Lazio. At the time, Gian Piero Gasperini did not see him as a starting goalkeeper at Atalanta, whereas Lazio viewed him as a potential number one. Although he had yet to play in Serie A, his performances in Serie B had marked him as a standout talent. Twelve million euros were not enough to secure his move from Atalanta. Since then, Carnesecchi's consistency has been impressive. During his spell at Cremonese, he excelled and eventually claimed the starting position at Atalanta, surpassing Musso, who was purchased for 20 million euros. This indicated his growth was just beginning. Last season, Carnesecchi was among the league's best goalkeepers, alongside Mile Svilar and Mike Maignan. However, there are no offers Atalanta can consider this summer. After selling Ederson and Palestra, Carnesecchi's valuation exceeds 50 million euros, a hefty price likely deterring potential suitors, especially for a goalkeeper. As such, his stay in Bergamo seems probable, perhaps with a new contract extension. Today, Marco Carnesecchi turns 26 years old.
