Spanish national team defender Pau Cubarsi has spoken about the presence of eight Barcelona players in the squad and his interactions with teammates from other clubs. "We Spaniards are many (in Barcelona), and we're very happy to be able to help the national team," Cubarsi remarked. He expressed regret for those who didn't make the squad but praised the enthusiasm of those selected, emphasizing their desire to perform well and bring joy to those who couldn't join. "We are a big family. We compete against each other all year, but when we wear the national team jersey, we become great teammates, leading to victory. If you get along well off the field, it helps you get along on the field," Cubarsi told Mundo Deportivo. In the group stage of the 2026 World Cup, Spain will face Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia, and Uruguay.
