Real Madrid is preparing to shatter its transfer record this summer, setting its sights on either João Neves or Vitinha from Paris Saint-Germain. This follows Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez's announcement of a significant investment of €150 million for a single player. Spanish sports media outlets have been quick to speculate that the target will come from PSG. Pérez's move comes amid a heated presidential race at Real Madrid, with rival Enrique Riquelme promising to bring Erling Haaland to the club if he wins. Pérez countered by confirming potential defensive reinforcements with Denzel Dumfries and Ibrahima Konaté, and hinted at a marquee signing. Reports suggest that either Vitinha or Neves could be the midfield addition, a decision aligned with potential coach José Mourinho's preferences. However, persuading PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaïfi to part with key players will be challenging, as both players have long-term contracts without release clauses. This deal could surpass Real Madrid's previous record set by Jude Bellingham's transfer in 2023, following other high-profile acquisitions like Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale.
