The game took place at the Akron Stadium in Zapopan, Mexico, under the supervision of referee Amin Omar from Egypt. The Czech Republic initially took the lead when defender Ladislav Krejčí scored in the 59th minute. However, South Korea's midfielder Hwang In-beom equalized in the 67th minute, and Oh Hyeon-gyu secured the win by scoring in the 80th minute. This victory gives South Korea three points, placing them second in the group standings. Meanwhile, the Czech Republic remains without points, sitting in third place. Mexico leads the group after their win over South Africa. The 2026 World Cup is being held across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, running from June 11 to July 19. Argentina, the reigning world champions, previously defeated France in the 2022 World Cup final.
