Vagnati: "I Want to Return to Football. Abate? He Needs to Work, Torino is Different"
Davide Vagnati, the former technical director of Torino, spoke at the "United for Meyer" event taking place at Villa Alpebella in Forte dei Marmi. "I am eager to return to football; I am used to working, but this is football. I am ready, I have traveled a lot since leaving Torino, and we will see what comes up next," he stated. When asked about his departure from Torino, he reflected, "There is bitterness because leaving in this manner is disappointing, but I have a good relationship with the president, and in the end, I hope Torino does well. It was an important six years; it was a beautiful experience, and we did well during a difficult time, especially since the economic aspect is crucial. Wages are very high, and it is very challenging to operate in football, but we did it in a certain way."
On the difficulty of convincing players from other leagues to come to Italy, he noted, "It's not easy. A few years ago, with the Growth Decree, it was much simpler; we brought in players at different salary levels, and history shows that we achieved great results in European competitions. Germany now also has significant structures and resources, so we need to be good at hitting the right buttons."
Vagnati praised Como's recent activities, saying, "Certainly, at this moment, Nico Paz was the most beautiful signing, even from a romantic perspective, confirming him and spending an important amount. Liberali needs to grow; Como has a very high level, but he has the qualities to do it. It is a good signing for Fabregas, plus there are the lists, and he fits those requirements."
When asked about who he would prefer as the coach of Italy, Conte or Mancini, he replied, "Both are great technicians, and I believe the new director will make the right choice alongside the president."

Regarding Juric and Vanoli, he expressed hope, saying, "Ivan has a great chance to turn around his last experiences; I hope and think he can do well. Monza is the right environment for him, especially with some players he has already worked with, particularly Pessina, whom he valued a lot. I spoke to Paolo a little while ago; he is a wonderful person, and I have an excellent relationship with him. I hope he returns as soon as possible; he is one of those who contributes and helps players grow."
