Sergey Semak, the head coach of Zenit, commented on the team's young players following their 4-0 friendly match victory over Leningradets. He highlighted the presence of several young talents during the game, including Andrey Kasadzhikov, who played the entire match. Semak noted their familiarity with the team's training environment, stating, "They are not new to our squad; they know a lot and train with us quite often."

He also addressed the absence of Andrey Mostovoy, who was sidelined due to minor health issues, allowing Kasadzhikov to take on a full match role. "We assessed his readiness and determined he was fully capable of handling it," Semak added. The young players are eager to showcase their strengths to secure more appearances in the first team.
Regarding the national team players observing the match, Semak confirmed they have resumed training. Players such as Barrios and Wendel are following their individual training programs, with the expectation that they will soon integrate back into group sessions. Semak anticipates that these players, along with Glushenkov, Diveev, and Adamov, will be available for upcoming matches, while Alip and Drkushich will join slightly later.
