Andrey Arshavin assessed Harry Kane's chances of winning the Ballon d'Or, noting that his success relies on the England national team's performance in the World Cup.
I have a soft spot for the England national team. It also seemed to me that they should perform better at the World Cup. With such a talented roster, I think this team will go far. And Harry Kane is doing great! Thanks to him, England won the match against DR Congo.

Kane has a good chance for the Ballon d'Or. It all depends on who becomes the world champion. If the French win, the award will go to someone from their squad," said Arshavin in an interview with Championship correspondent Nikolai Baranov.
In the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup, the England national team defeated DR Congo 2-1, with both goals scored by Harry Kane. In the next round of the tournament, the English team will face Mexico, with the match scheduled for the night of July 5-6 at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.
