Robert Lewandowski has finalized an agreement with Chicago Fire. Reports from leading international media confirmed this news on Sunday. The Polish forward is leaving Barcelona and making the move to MLS on a free transfer. In mid-2022, Barcelona acquired Lewandowski for €45 million from Bayern Munich. After four seasons, 193 appearances, 120 goals, and three league titles, his time in Catalonia comes to an end. The 37-year-old striker is set to depart on a free transfer as his contract expires in July. Chicago Fire announced that he will soon sign a two-year contract. Notable sources like The Athletic, Sky Sport Deutschland, and Fabrizio Romano have reported on this development. Lewandowski had several options but opted for a new adventure in the United States. He is expected to participate in his first match on July 16 against the Vancouver Whitecaps, featuring Thomas Müller. The following match will see Chicago Fire face Lionel Messi's Inter Miami. This marks the fifth club in Lewandowski's career, having previously played for Lech Poznan, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona. Additionally, he is a 167-time international for Poland.
