Zeeman Expects Mijnans's Transfer to PSV from AZ

Merijn Zeeman, AZ Alkmaar's general director, has indicated that Sven Mijnans is likely to transfer from AZ to PSV. Speaking on the Dutch TV program 'De Avondetappe,' Zeeman confirmed that discussions are ongoing, although he was unable to disclose many details. This summer, PSV has renewed their interest in Mijnans after a previous attempt to sign him was unsuccessful. Zeeman, who transitioned from cycling to football management, acknowledged the likelihood of the transfer happening despite AZ's reluctance to lose the player. "I think it will happen," he remarked cryptically, adding that more details might emerge in the coming days. During the conversation, a transfer fee of thirteen million euros was mentioned, to which Zeeman responded with a smile, neither confirming nor denying the figure. Additionally, Zeeman praised AZ defender Mateo Chávez, who is currently representing Mexico at the World Cup and has already scored. Zeeman expressed his hope that no transfer offers would come for Chávez, as AZ wishes to retain him longer.
