Germany's head coach Julian Nagelsmann has voiced his concerns over the tight schedule faced by the team as they prepare for their round of 16 match at the 2026 World Cup. Nagelsmann stated that the team is at a disadvantage, learning about their opponent less than 48 hours before the match. "I feel we are somewhat penalized as group winners," Nagelsmann commented. "We've analyzed potential opponents by watching three or four matches, and our analysis team is working tirelessly. We will be up all night to ensure we're prepared, as we don't want to be scrambling for a match plan on Sunday." Germany has so far secured victories against Curaçao (7-1) and Côte d'Ivoire (2-1) in the tournament. Their next match is scheduled for June 25 against Ecuador.
