In Brazil's opening match against Morocco, which ended in a 1-1 draw, Vinicius netted an equalizer in the 32nd minute. He continued his scoring streak in the second match against Haiti, contributing to a 3-0 victory with a goal in the 45+3 minute. In the final group stage match against Scotland, Vinicius scored twice, securing another 3-0 win with goals in the 7th and 45+3 minutes. This accomplishment places him alongside illustrious names such as Jairzinho (1970), Romário (1994), Ronaldo (2002), and Rivaldo (2002), who also achieved this in previous World Cups.
