The Champions League final between Arsenal and PSG will take place this Saturday at a venue steeped in significance for Real Madrid fans and the history of European football: the Ferenc Puskás Arena in Budapest. This stadium, named after one of Real Madrid's greatest legends, will be the focal point of continental football. Ahead of the match, Ane Puskás, great-granddaughter of the legendary Hungarian forward, spoke to 'La Tribu' on Radio MARCA, hosted by Raúl Varela, about her great-grandfather's legacy and the significance of this special day for her family. "It's very exciting and also a bit surreal," Ane confessed about the final being held at the Budapest stadium. "In these moments, you realize what my great-grandfather means to so many people, especially to football," she added. Ane, who is a teacher and active on social media, where she shares content about travel, lifestyle, and her family legacy, noted that the Puskás name continues to evoke admiration everywhere: "Indeed, people are often quite surprised." Beyond the football myth, Ane wanted to remember the more familial side of Pancho Puskás. "For me, my great-grandfather is much more than a player," she explained emotionally. "I remember him as a very loving man, very close to his family." Among the memories she cherishes are family summers in Benidorm: "Every night we gathered in the living room and watched Western movies, which he loved. He always had chocolates and candies to share." The family's bond with Real Madrid remains strong decades after the historic European Cups won by the white team. "Real Madrid has always been a special team. It comes from family, and we always cheer for the team," Ane said, adding that she will remain neutral between Arsenal and PSG in the final because "I've always supported Real Madrid, and in the end, our team is that." The great-granddaughter of the legend also spoke about Puskás's lasting impact in Hungary. "He's present on every corner," she stated. "There are statues, a wax figure, the Puskás Academy... plus he's buried there, in the basilica." Every visit to the stadium evokes a special feeling: "From the first time I entered, it seemed impressive. You really realize how much they love him there." Although the family chose Spain as their place of residence, with many roots in the Valencian Community, Ferenc Puskás's figure remains eternal both in Budapest and among Madridistas. And this Saturday, on the grand night of European football, his name will once again be at the center of attention.
