Anthony Gordon has touched down in Barcelona, where the English forward is set to undergo a medical examination before finalizing his transfer to the club. Upon arrival, Gordon expressed his excitement, stating, "I'm very happy." The deal with Newcastle was settled swiftly, with both parties eager to finalize before Gordon departs for international duty at the World Cup. The transfer agreement reportedly involves a €70 million fee plus €10 million in add-ons. Gordon, who can operate in all three offensive positions, is expected to sign a five-year contract. This move marks the first signing of Barcelona's 2025-26 campaign under Hansi Flick, aiming to bolster their attacking options. Despite previous hip issues during the season, Gordon is set to participate in the World Cup, with no concerns anticipated over his medical.
