Sergei Varatynov, a defender for Kaliningrad's Baltika, expressed his anticipation for the upcoming 2026/27 Russian Premier League season. Reflecting on the past season, Varatynov noted, "The end of the season dampened our spirits. We suffered unnecessary defeats, but we played well overall. Luck just wasn't on our side. However, I'm pleased with the season overall." When asked about the expectations for the next season, he remarked, "The team will definitely go into each game with a winning mindset. As for high expectations, we'll see how it goes. The higher we finish, the better. I'd be content with repeating last season's performance." Last season, Baltika secured sixth place in the league standings.
