Joan Laporta, the re-elected president of Barcelona, uses his inaugural speech to criticize Real Madrid, highlighting the tension surrounding the club and praising Barcelona's coach Hansi Flick for his contributions.

Joan Laporta officially commenced his new term as Barcelona president with a pointed critique of Real Madrid. During his inaugural address, Laporta took the opportunity to respond to recent statements from Real Madrid's president, Florentino Pérez, highlighting the tension surrounding the Madrid club. He accused Real Madrid of being nervous about Barcelona's current standing and sarcastically referenced José Mourinho's return. "There's a lot of tension elsewhere. Embarrassing press conferences are organized, and it seems someone has lost their way, repeating the same old script," he stated. Laporta went on to commend the work of Hansi Flick, attributing Barcelona's growth to the coach's leadership. "We have a solid team and a coach like Flick who is leading this group in the best way possible," he added. Concluding his address, Laporta remarked that some have yet to accept Barcelona's restored respectability both in sports and institutional relations, further fueling the rivalry with Real Madrid.
