French journalist Clément Pernia expressed his views on Russian goalkeeper Matvei Safonov's role at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). He stated, "I think he needs to stay. He can still establish himself in the team. Regarding Safonov—he was decisive in the match against Liverpool, he showed himself and did not fail. I believe he hasn't secured his place in the starting lineup for life. However, it won't be easy to push him out of the lineup next season," Pernia's comments were relayed by Planet PSG, referencing RMC. This season, Safonov has played 27 matches for the club across all competitions, allowing 28 goals and recording 12 clean sheets. Additionally, he became the first Russian player to win the Champions League twice.
