According to multiple Italian reports, representatives for John Stones have been actively working to secure a deal with Inter Milan. However, the Italian giants do not appear interested in the former Manchester City defender. Inter is in need of at least one new defender, potentially two, following the departures of Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi at the end of their contracts. Currently, Inter is engaged in a transfer battle with Como for Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah, who carries a price tag of €30 million plus €5 million in add-ons. Stones has also been proposed to other clubs in Italy, including Napoli and Juventus. Despite being willing to accept a pay cut from the €10 million he earned annually at Manchester City, Stones is seeking a two-year contract with an option for a third year, which Italian clubs are hesitant to offer.
