Manchester City is poised to have a major presence at the 2026 World Cup, with 19 players who last played for the club participating in the tournament hosted across North America. This remarkable figure not only makes Manchester City the most represented club in English football but also across the global footballing landscape. Among these players, James Trafford, Marc Guehi, Nico O'Reilly, and John Stones have been called up for England. Meanwhile, Bernardo Silva, set to leave City this summer, joins Ruben Dias and Matheus Nunes in Portugal's squad.
The Netherlands and Croatia each feature two City players: Tijjani Reijnders and Nathan Ake for the Dutch, Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol for the Croatians. Other City players representing their nations include Erling Haaland for Norway, Omar Marmoush for Egypt, Rayan Cherki for France, Jeremy Doku for Belgium, Rodri for Spain, Rayan Ait-Nouri for Algeria, Antoine Semenyo for Ghana, and Abdukodir Khusanov for Uzbekistan.

In previous tournaments, Barcelona held the record with 17 players in Qatar, while Manchester City and Bayern Munich were close contenders with 16 each. The current record set by City reflects the growth and increasing competitiveness of club football worldwide.
