Nick Marsman continues his career at Go Ahead Eagles. The 35-year-old goalkeeper was a free agent after his stint at Fortuna Sittard and will be the backup to Kjetil Haug in Deventer. Marsman returns to the club where he played on loan during the 2012/13 season. Once final details are settled, he will sign a one-season contract with an option for another year. At that time, Go Ahead rented the keeper from FC Twente. Under the guidance of Erik ten Hag, the Deventenaren were promoted to the Eredivisie via the playoffs, with Marsman as the first-choice goalkeeper. Marsman has also played for clubs including FC Utrecht, Feyenoord, Inter Miami, ADO Den Haag, and most recently Fortuna Sittard. Go Ahead was looking for an experienced goalkeeper to step in when Haug is unavailable, as Haug has succeeded Jari De Busser, who was sold to AZ on Friday.
