Marcus Rashford has returned to training with Manchester United during the preseason, as reported by Fabrizio Romano on social media. The club is keenly monitoring market developments, with Rashford open to continuing his career in Manchester. However, his participation in preseason doesn't guarantee his long-term stay at the club. Previously, head coach Michael Carrick left the door open for Rashford's return after he spent the 2025/2026 season on loan at Barcelona. The Catalan club, having activated a €26 million buyout option, no longer prioritizes Rashford following the signing of Anthony Gordon. Carrick maintains communication with Rashford, and club officials have already held discussions with the player. The dressing room is also prepared to welcome him back. Rashford, who hasn't played for Manchester United since December 2024, was on loan at Aston Villa and Barcelona, scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists in 49 games for the latter. His contract with Manchester United extends until the summer of 2028.
