Swansea City has appointed Ben Stevens as their new sporting director, previously serving at Crystal Palace.
Swansea City has announced the appointment of Ben Stevens as the club's new sporting director. Stevens transitions from Crystal Palace, where he served as assistant sporting director since 2024. His tenure at Palace included a significant role as head of performance and recruitment analysis for a decade. During his time, he collaborated with former sporting director Dougie Freedman and temporarily assumed Freedman's duties following his departure to Al-Diriyah last year.

Swansea's search for a new sporting director began after the exit of Richard Montague last September, followed by the departure of head of recruitment and analytics Adam Worth in April. Stevens is set to begin his new role on July 10. He expressed optimism about his move, stating, "Having worked in a number of roles at a variety of clubs over the last 20 years, I believe it gives me the necessary attributes to help maximise the club's potential. I believe in the project at Swansea City and the club has huge potential. I am excited at the prospect of bringing everyone together on this journey to help us achieve future success."
Tom Gorringe, Swansea's chief executive, highlighted the careful selection process, emphasizing that the club was committed to appointing a candidate who fits Swansea City well. Gorringe praised Stevens' contribution to Crystal Palace's success and noted the decision to announce his appointment after the end of Palace's season and their European achievements.
