Turkey exits the World Cup after failing to score in two matches, despite dominating possession. Their early elimination marks a disappointing return to the tournament after 24 years.
Turkey's long-awaited return to the FIFA World Cup after 24 years has ended in disappointment. Despite the anticipation, Turkey's dream of competing in North America quickly turned into a nightmare as the team was eliminated after just two group-stage matches. Under the guidance of coach Vincenzo Montella, Turkey suffered a 1–0 defeat to Paraguay, securing them the last place in Group C.

The team had plenty of opportunities to change their fate. In their match against Australia, Turkey dominated with 72 percent possession, and against Paraguay, they managed an even higher 78 percent. Arda GĂĽler, Kenan Yildiz, and their teammates collectively took 62 shots at their opponents' goals across these games. However, despite being a favored side, they failed to score a single goal in 180 minutes of play. Even a numerical advantage against Paraguay did not help them break the deadlock.
This lack of finishing has left Turkey facing a meaningless final World Cup match against the USA. Fans hope that the team might at least find the net against the hosts, providing a small consolation in an otherwise disappointing campaign.
