England manager Thomas Tuchel has come to the defense of Jude Bellingham following an on-field clash with Ghana's Carlos Queiroz. The incident, which unfolded at Boston Stadium during the World Cup 2026, sparked at half-time in a goalless draw. Bellingham was pulled away by teammate Morgan Rogers after tensions flared following a foul against Jerome Opoku. The altercation continued as players and staff moved towards the tunnel. "It was an exchange of emotions, and Jude stood up for himself and his team," Tuchel stated. "Emotions are a part of the game, but we must focus on what's important." Despite the heated moment, the situation calmed without any cards being issued. Carlos Queiroz remarked, "He had a bad reaction with some bad names, and that's how it started." England remains at the top of Group L, poised to qualify for the last 32 with a draw against Panama. Bellingham, who recently became the youngest England player to achieve 50 caps, downplayed the incident, explaining it stemmed from a "silly tackle". Despite previous controversies, Bellingham's performance in the World Cup has been notable, earning player of the match in the draw with Ghana.
