Juventus has reached an agreement with goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez but is negotiating a free transfer with Aston Villa, who are asking for €10m.
Juventus has reportedly reached a preliminary agreement with Aston Villa's Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano 'Dibu' Martinez, according to sources in Italy. The experienced shot-stopper is said to have agreed to a three-year contract with Juventus, accepting a lower salary of €5 million per year, indicating his readiness for a new challenge. The deal, however, is contingent on Juventus negotiating a favorable transfer deal with Aston Villa. While Martinez's contract with Aston Villa extends until 2029, Juventus is seeking to acquire him for free due to his age and desire to move. Aston Villa, on the other hand, is holding firm on a €10 million asking price. Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti is keen on adding an experienced goalkeeper to the squad, and the club is optimistic about reaching an economically advantageous agreement with Aston Villa.
