Fabio Grosso has left Sassuolo following a mutual contract termination, paving the way for his appointment at Fiorentina, which is expected to be confirmed soon.
Fabio Grosso has officially left Sassuolo after both parties agreed to a mutual termination of his contract. This move clears the way for the 2006 World Cup winner to take over as head coach at Fiorentina, with an official announcement expected imminently. Sassuolo expressed gratitude towards Grosso and his team for their contributions over two seasons, which included a promotion to Serie A and an eleventh-place finish. Grosso had previously communicated his intent to depart, leading to this formalized separation. Fiorentina had already reached an agreement with Grosso's representatives, securing a two-year contract worth about €1.2 million per season, with an option for a third year. Now free from his Sassuolo commitments, Grosso can finalize his new role with the help of sporting director Fabio Paratici. This appointment marks a new chapter at the Stadio Franchi following a challenging season under the previous management of Stefano Pioli and Paolo Vanoli.
